About Steffanie Jensen


Steffanie Jensen, Licensed Master’s in Social Work

Steffanie Jensen was born in SLC, Utah, and has also lived in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Idaho Falls, Idaho, and is a Madison High School graduate of our great town of Rexburg, Idaho. She loves living in Rexburg and working with the locals as well as the diversity of working with the Brigham Young University-Idaho students. 

She loves working with people from all populations, and has a passion for helping others achieve their full potential by helping them figure out the best quality of well-being that they feel their life has to offer. She is a counselor with ability to feel strong empathy, compassion, understanding, and human connection with her clients, and is able to help individuals move forward by applying evidence based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Holistic Therapy. She believes that these six areas of wellness are essential to bringing overall healthy well-being to each person’s life: physical, spiritual, mental, emotional, social, and self-care. 

Steffanie is able to work with individuals with different types of addictions and mental health issues, such as:

Other Specialties

Steffanie is able to teach group counseling in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Motivational Enhancement Therapy. 

Steffanie also specializes in EMDR Therapy, which works to desensitize trauma triggers that induce a person’s past traumas to bleed into the present. By decreasing the trauma triggers, an individual struggling from PTSD and other trauma related situations, is able to regain the ability to manage their emotions and thoughts by desensitizing their triggers, increasing their overall mental and emotional well-being. 

Steffanie also specializes in and has a great passion and success working with individuals struggling with:

  • Sex/pornography addiction (Individual and groups)
  • Betrayal Trauma (Individual and groups)

In this area, she feels she is able to bring hope and a greater understanding to individuals and couples suffering in this area that has invaded the population nationally and internationally from an educational standpoint and personal experience. 

To those with sex/pornography addiction, she is able to bring education and hope to recovery and healing. To those with betrayal trauma, she is able to bring healing, validation, understanding, and hope. To couples, she is able to help in assisting them in moving forward and bringing hope to redeeming their relationship through individual recovery and couple’s recovery.

•Was asked by the Rigby Counseling Department and Rigby High School Administration to present an Anti-Pornography assembly to the staff and students at Rigby High School in 2017

Personal Life

Before completing her degree, Steffanie taught piano and cello for almost 30 years. She loves to play in the Idaho Falls or Rexburg symphonies when time allows. Family is very important to Steffanie. She is married and has 4 children, three girls and one boy. They love to go camping, boating, and snowmobiling.
