Sidney Kohler is a Licensed Master Social Worker who believes that feeling understood is
often the first step toward feeling better. She brings a warm, genuine, and down-to-earth
presence to her work and strives to create a space where clients can feel comfortable
showing up as they are.
Sidney especially loves working with children and believes that kids often communicate
in ways that go beyond words. She enjoys using play, creativity, and age-appropriate
therapeutic techniques to help children express things they may not yet have the words
to explain. Through play therapy-informed approaches, she helps children process
difficult experiences, make sense of what they have been through, and build a greater
sense of safety and understanding.
While Sidney has a particular passion for working with children, she enjoys working
with people of all ages and backgrounds. Her experience includes supporting children,
families, and individuals in school, community, and hospital settings.
Sidney’s work is grounded in trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based
care. She believes that understanding our experiences and the ways they have shaped us
can be an important part of creating change. Whether working through trauma,
navigating difficult emotions, relationships, or life transitions, Sidney strives to help
clients better understand themselves, build on their strengths, and develop tools that
feel realistic and meaningful to them.
Sidney earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Brigham Young University–Hawaiʻi and
her Master of Social Work from Utah State University. She values continued learning and
growth as a clinician and believes that therapy is a collaborative process built on trust,
curiosity, and connection.
Outside of work, Sidney loves spending time outdoors, playing the guitar, and being with
family and friends.
