Rayo enjoys working in a variety of settings, from individual counseling to co-facilitating groups. His philosophy is rooted in the belief that all people are inherently capable—sometimes they just need a little support. He views mental health as an essential part of overall well-being that cannot be separated from the rest of one’s health. Rayo also believes that people are fundamentally good; when their needs go unmet or they’re in pain, they may struggle with mental health challenges that can cause them to appear “bad” to others.
Rayo recognizes that culture profoundly shapes who we are, often in ways we may not even realize. He intentionally incorporates cultural awareness into his therapeutic approach, understanding its deep impact on mental health. Having moved frequently and lived abroad twice, he has gained a deep appreciation for the richness and beauty of diverse perspectives and experiences.
Rayo finds deep fulfillment in working with individuals and couples seeking to overcome compulsive or problematic sexual behaviors. He is currently a candidate associate for problematic sexual behavior therapist and is on track to complete certification as a Certified (CSAT) within the next year. This specialized training, developed by Dr. Patrick Carnes and overseen by IITAP, equips him to provide evidence-based and compassionate care.
Rayo is passionate about helping clients build greater self-awareness, self-regulation, and intentionality—empowering them to live more authentic and fulfilling lives. He also offers support to partners of those struggling with compulsive sexual behaviors, providing a safe and nonjudgmental space to process their experiences. In his work with partners, Rayo emphasizes education and understanding, guiding them toward clarity, stability, and healing.
He graduated from BYU-I in 2020 and promptly began his Masters degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health at Idaho State University. He has been working in the clinical setting since February 2021.

Brayden Waddoups is a Master’s-level Student Therapist currently completing his graduate training at Capella University. He has a strong interest in working with couples and families and is especially drawn to therapeutic approaches that emphasize relationships, connection, and systemic understanding.
Brayden believes that effective therapy begins with active listening, empathy, and respect, and he values treating every individual with dignity and inherent worth. He strives to advocate for the needs of those he works with and approaches each client with care, curiosity, and openness. His goal is to be of help in whatever capacity he can, meeting clients where they are and supporting them through meaningful change.
His clinical orientation is informed by Bowen Family Therapy and Family Systems Theory, which view individuals as part of interconnected relational systems rather than in isolation. From this perspective, Brayden focuses on understanding patterns of interaction, emotional processes, and generational influences that shape relationships, while supporting clients in developing greater self-awareness, balance, and intentionality within their families and partnerships.
