As an advanced practice nurse, the thing I love most is helping people. My desire is to help you improve your mental health. I am a firm believer in judgment-free, trauma-informed mental health care. Mental health struggles are nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about. As is often stated, “Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”
Throughout my two-decade nursing career, I have worked in various settings. I am a certified pediatric nurse and took care of children in the inpatient setting for six years. I later became a certified nursing educator, and taught college level nursing courses including mental health nursing.
In addition to my nursing experience, I volunteer as a court appointed special advocate for children (CASA) working with children in the child-protection setting.
I grew up in the mountain west and have lived in southeast Idaho for over a decade. I love Idaho, I enjoy camping with my family and all the other outdoor activities that the area has to offer. I like having all four seasons. Yes, I even like the snow, but I am also always happy for spring.
Education:
2023 Post-Graduate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Certificate from Herzing University.
2016 Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSN) from the University of Wyoming.
2012 Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Idaho State University.
2005 Registered Nurse (RN) Associate of Nursing (ADN)
2004 Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Certificate
As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I am passionate about building meaningful connections with my patients. I believe that the provider-patient relationship is the foundation of effective mental health care—fostering trust, collaboration, and lasting change.
My approach is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and mutual respect. Together, we will build awareness, explore challenges, consider approaches, and create realistic, personalized plans that support your mental and emotional well-being. I aim to help patients feel more connected to themselves so they can experience deeper connections with others and the world around them.
I genuinely love learning about people—their experiences, strengths, and stories—and consider it a privilege to walk alongside them on their journey toward healing and growth.
Before becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I spent 11 years working at Madison Surgery Center. It was there that I truly recognized the power of patient understanding and the vital role that teamwork plays in healing. Helping patients feel informed and supported through their experiences deepened my appreciation for clear communication and compassionate care.
Born and raised in Idaho, I have a deep love for this area and the natural beauty that surrounds it. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, gathering with family, connecting with friends, and soaking in our stunning Idaho sunsets. This place is home in every sense of the word, and I feel grateful to serve the community I care so much about.
