Abraham Maslow once said “If you only have a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.” My passion is creating a safe environment for individuals to explore what brought them to counseling. Specifically, I tailor each session to the needs of the client in hopes to help them identify their “nails”, or challenges, as well as teach them appropriate “tools” (besides just using a hammer) to help them overcome their problems.
Uniquely, I have the opportunity of meeting with my clients online. I find that both myself and the individuals I work with project more authentic versions of ourselves from the comfort of our own homes. Despite the online interaction, the therapeutic relationship is not diluted in any way. I do my best to help my clients feel comfortable and confident during our sessions.
In utilizing a person-centered, strengths-based approach, I take into consideration the social, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of each individual. I am also clinically and academically trained in therapeutic practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based techniques, Trauma-Informed interventions, and others. I enjoy working with diverse populations, ages 14 and up, and have experience working with clients facing various life challenges and stressors including but not limited to: adjustment issues, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, pornography addiction, substance abuse, anger management, relationships, and so on.
I was born and raised in Idaho, and I am very proud to be an Idahoan! I currently live in Twin Falls, Idaho, with my husband and newborn son. When I am not working I enjoy spending my time outside in the mountains, kayaking the Snake River, and being a mommy to our little man.
