Dr. Jim McCoy, MD graduated with a Bachelors degree from Brigham Young University and earned his medical degree from Texas A&M/Baylor Scott & White. He is currently a 4th year psychiatry resident at the University of Utah and plans on moving to Rexburg following residency. His interests are rural psychiatry and community based mental health.
His publications include writing chapters for medical textbooks on Psychiatry and Neurology. He is working together with Dr. Morris, the University of Utah and Idaho State University to establish a psychiatry training program in Southeastern Idaho in hopes of bringing more mental health providers to the area.
His wife is a PA and met her his intern year of residency. Together they enjoy backpacking, fly-fishing, camping, hiking and watching reality TV shows.
